2012年是中国龙年，“龙”着重体现出博大精深的中华文化，象征体育健儿奋力拼搏，龙飞凤舞的精神面貌。
2012 is a Chinese dragon year, “dragon” greatly reflects the extensive and profound Chinese culture, symbolizing sports athlete's endeavour and struggle, and the dynamic spiritual outlook.
“凤”是“楚文化”的标志与精髓，体现出武汉深厚的历史文化底蕴，龙与凤的组合，增添了“龙凤呈祥”的喜庆氛围。
“Phoenix” is the symbol and essence of the “Chu culture”, which embodies Wuhan's profound historical culture deposits. The combination of dragon and phoenix adds joyous atmosphere of “prosperity brought by the dragon and phoenix”.
“龙”代表男子团体的“汤姆斯杯”；“凤”代表女子团体的“尤伯杯”；“龙凤呈祥”寓意中国男、女队在本次比赛中夺得冠军。
“Dragon”represents“Thomas cup”of men team; “phoenix” on behalf of “Uber cup” of women team; “prosperity brought by dragon and phoenix”implies that China men and women team will seize the championship in this competition.
龙娃V形的手势，象征着胜利，寓意武汉将圆满成功的举办好本届赛事。凤妞敞开双臂，洋溢着热情，寓意友好、和谐。
